BRIEF HISTORY

Pematangsiantar city is one of the cities in North Sumatra province, and the second largest city in the province after Medan. Because of the strategic location of Pematangsiantar, Pematangsiantar city is often a crossing City for tourists who want to visit the attractions of Lake Toba.
Pematangsiantar city also has an industrial sector consisting of large and medium industries that are the backbone of the city's economy. The factors become the attraction for foreign citizens (WNA) to settle and reside in the city of Pematangsiantar, both as tourists and foreign workers (TKA).
Communities in the city of Pematangsiantar classified as groups with upper middle economic level. This can be seen by the high number of applications for immigration documents for both Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreigners, which are accepted by the Immigration Office Class II Non TPI Pematangsiantar.
According to its history, in 1967 the Immigration Office was established at Jalan Pasar no. 28 Pematangsiantar called Immigration Office 1/3 Medan. Previously, the Class II Pematangsiantar Immigration Office on Jalan Raya Medan km 11.5 was a transformation of the Pematangsiantar Immigration Office located on Jalan Letjen Suprapto No. 24 the delivery.
Based on the regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia number 19 of 2018 the nomenclature of the Class II Pematangsiantar Immigration Office becomes the Class II non TPI Pematangsiantar Immigration Office with a working area covering 8 regencies and 2 Intermediate cities, namely Serdang Bedagai Regency, Simalungun, Toba Samosir, Samosir, North Tapanuli, Dairi, Pakpak Bharat and High, and the viewer.
Then on July 01, 2020 the Immigration Office Class II Non TPI Pematang Siantar changed its nomenclature to the Immigration Office Class II TPI Pematang Siantar in accordance with the decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number M.HH-02.OT.01.03 year 2020 on changes in the nomenclature and working area of the Immigration Office
